Yoga with Alison
Alison’s Hatha Yoga classes include:
-
breathing and mindfulness techniques
-
a mixture of physical practice styles:
-
traditional poses held for a short time
-
sun salutations
-
short flow sequences
-
a few minutes spent in relaxation at the end of the practice
And always a chance to smile and enjoy your practice.

You will practice at your own pace.
You do not need to keep up with anybody else in the class.
Alison has practiced and studied many different styles of yoga and her teaching has evolved to incorporate the most helpful and interesting elements from the most popular different styles. She is an experienced yoga teacher and passionate about guiding high quality, holistic yoga that is suitable for everybody. Her classes provide friendly, relaxed, supportive teaching and will support you in finding your own practice, helping you to listen to the guidance of your own body.
Your body is your wisest teacher.

Everybody is different in terms of physical abilities and everybody has different reasons that bring them to yoga and what they might want from their practice. So, it only makes sense that we all practice in different ways. Alison helps you to learn how to listen to your own body and practice without ego or expectation.

Alison is skilled in making the physical aspects of the yoga practice accessible. Props such as yoga bricks, blocks, chairs and belts can be used to support you in many creative ways to make the practice easier - or more challenging.

Yoga with Alison is truly yoga for everyone and in the classes you will see everyone practicing in their own different ways - often doing the same 'pose' but making quite a different shape as suits their own body.

Whether you need a more gentle or more strenuous physical practice you will be guided to practice at a level that feels helpful, safe and nourishing for you.

Since 2009, Alison has completed multiple yoga teacher training courses (including Advanced Yoga Teacher Training 500 hours) in traditional hatha, Sivananda and Vinyasa yoga in the UK and India. She has also practiced and studied Iyengar yoga for many years.

Alison will help you to let go of any ideas and myths around yoga. It does not matter the shape or size of your body. You do not need to have good balance. You do not need to be flexible. It does not matter whether you can touch your toes or not.
